Production Blog: Filming Franklin Again Final Task

Image
We continued filming once again. Cameras came out, and the next set was chosen. This time, attendance was not full. We were missing Nick. We felt his absence significantly. We worked without all hands on deck. This made it slightly more difficult. But we worked through it. I again was the cameraman. I held shots steady. Even though action-heavy scenes. I also assisted with drone cinematography. Trying my best to not crash into trees. Dodging and swerving around obstacles. Additionally, I brought the drone higher than we ever have before. Getting an overhead shot of the entire premises. This added to our grand scale. Trying to contribute to the overall feeling of our film. Our second day of filming was completed efficiently. Our additional shots make the feel overall more comprehensive.

Production Blog: Filming Franks Final Task

Hello, and welcome to my fifth production blog. We have successfully filmed our final task project. Our filming took place mostly in a house garage. We had some outside scenes, but were not the main focus. These scenes mainly featured the drone. The outside scenes were generally thrilling, and were the most fast paced. My place was again behind the camera. I had to keep smooth movement consistent throughout. This can be difficult during high-action scenes. Being a camera-man can be difficult working with students, and some scenes had to be reshot. Additionally, being a camera-man is an almost directorial-like role in the film. I get to decide how some scenes are formatted within the film, and how they play out relating to the storyboard. It was very interesting filming the kidnapped scenes. The shooting styles throughout these scenes conveys a feeling of dread, that I tried to put on the camera. The drone scenes I assisted with, but the main flying was done by Logan. Remembering lines

Hello, welcome to my fourth production blog. My filming process is soon to begin. We are preparing the cameras and equipment for the upcoming shoot. All the materials are accruing. The storyboard has been completed. The actors know their lines, and we have the location ready. If everything goes to plan, the filming will proceed smoothly. We also have our script prepped, but it can, and probably will change. We will temper our expectations for what is feasible. Many scenes relating to stunts may not be possible. Also, a parent will probably be on the site. We will need to do things deemed appropriate by parents, and act in ways they will allow. Additionally, vehicle usage will be heavily monitored. I am planning to use phones for the shooting process, as we usually  do. This will enable us to utilize the skill we already possess. We are used to filming with this aperture, so it will run smoothly. The one new element we have is our drone. We must practice flying it more, and I must spec

Production Blog: Creative Troubles Final Task

Hello, and welcome to my third production blog for my final task project. Collaboration is still an integral component of our pre-production and actual filming days for the final task. Always has been. However, collaboration doesn't always flow smoothly. Bumps in the road always occur. What matters is how you react to them. A major cause of these so-called bumps has been the storyboard. Specifically how directly it should direct how our film flows. I have mainly directed and mediated discussions between members. The discussion has now reached a point of semi-acceptance. The final stage of grieving. We are understanding the true reality of the situation. We are only student filmmakers, and some scenes we are familiar with are simply not possible. I have also assisted in this pre-filming discussion, mainly trying to keep the ambition high while also balancing reality acceptance. Most of these talks do not take place in person, happening virtually. In other news, we have the location

Production Blog: Understanding Our Direction Final Task

Hello, and welcome to my second production blog for my final task project. This blog focuses on clearing up creative choices my group and I have made. I am trying to communicate efficiently. Collaboration is key to the beginning stages of our project. I have created a new group chat. This allows me and my group to instantaneously communicate our ideas with each other. My ideas can be spread, and each member can workshop each other. I have also assisted with the drone compenent of our shoot. I have been very interested in utilizing a drone for many of our shots. This would give our project a grand feeling. It can fly around the location, and truly show where the action is taking place. I have experimented with flying this device over a few days. Slowly acclimating myself to the controls. This will prepare me for the actual shooting day. Overall, I feel like this will apply an even more action movie feel to our project. Many moves in this genre utilize this shooting technique. It will al

Production Blog: Preparation Pete Final Task

Hello, welcome to my first production blog for my final task project. I have started the very early stages of production. Planning, and laying out what I want to film in the coming weeks. The location I have decided to film at is pretty airtight. It is where one of my friends lives, so it should be simple to film within. We can access it easily, at any time of day. Any lighting I need, I can make happen. My storyboarding is pretty finished, and I know pretty well how the story will lead. Overall, my planning process has gone pretty well. I had the helm on script writing, thus giving me almost all creative control of the story. My group mates have to essentially work around the story I wrote. This makes me the screenwriter in a sense. I have to tone the script down in some areas, however. I need to account for the reality of our filming. We are only teenagers, so we can't access insane stunts major studios can. We will work with what we have. The main focus of the film will be dial

On page 1 the bad guys are using a drone in order to find the president's room in order to calculate his exact location, this will serve as our establishing shot because it shows the main location.   On page 2 the bad guys are using separate ways of ascending their way to the president's room, they split up to scout for the president's protection . This scene will use lots of medium-long shots.       On page 3 the bad guys make their way into the president's room and find him lounging on his balcony, after they see the president, they capture him and start to bring him down this will include first-person shots.        On page 4, they are met with the president's protection forces and trade lethal blows until they enter the elevator .
