Production Blog

 Welcome to my production blog. My main job through the duration of the filming was camera man. We are doing a car commercial, so capturing it on camera was slightly challenging. Its faster than a human (obviously), so keeping up with it was pretty hard. It was very fun to experiment with camera movement. One scene was very interesting to film. I sat in the passenger seat, and filmed the speedometer as Logan sped up. It was very fun to sit the classic car, as Logan jammed the manual stick increasing in speed. Speaking of classic cars, the filming location was a car part manufacturer. I got to see BMW race cars, and the machines that make the parts for them. Logan had completely remade a classic car, and making a commercial about felt like a father showcasing his baby. The best shot I helped with was the ending shot, which featured Ryan leaving the car in a pseudo-suit, clicking the keys closing the car. It showed off the luxury we were trying to show. Another interesting part was filming the sounds we would add in post. Sometime the raw audio isn't exactly what we want it to be, so recording the sounds to be added after made our film better. It would accentuate e the noises of the car, and ground it more. Overall, I learned more about cars. I got to see the production processes. I got to see it drive. And I got to film it.
