Prop Party Production Blog

 Welcome to my seventh production blog. The rehearsal went well. We practiced lines in the shop. Additionally, we ran through them in Logan's house. Finally, we ran through them in his car. This would mimic the racing scene. So, overall the script is looking pretty good. However, we may have to rehearse it again soon. Just to make sure. So, our goal today is to finalize the props we will be using for the film. Most importantly, Logan's car. This "prop" is integral to the film as it is the heart of the plot. We must retrofit it with racing stickers to make it feel immersed in the world. Next, we need to finalize the food Logan will eat in the sad home scene. This is integral as Logan will be depressed in this scene, and we want to have him eat food that goes along with this general mood. We were workshopping things like mashed potatoes. Or cold green peas. Just overall, food evokes sadness in the scene. We want our props to signify things important to the plot occurring. They won't just be items, but instead closer to the plot.

Production Blog: Filming Franks Final Task

 Hello, and welcome to my fifth production blog. We have successfully filmed our final task project. Our filming took place mostly in a house garage. We had some outside scenes, but were not the main focus. These scenes mainly featured the drone. The outside scenes were generally thrilling, and were the most fast paced. My place was again behind the camera. I had to keep smooth movement consistent throughout. This can be difficult during high-action scenes. Being a camera-man can be difficult working with students, and some scenes had to be reshot. Additionally, being a camera-man is an almost directorial-like role in the film. I get to decide how some scenes are formatted within the film, and how they play out relating to the storyboard. It was very interesting filming the kidnapped scenes. The shooting styles throughout these scenes conveys a feeling of dread, that I tried to put on the camera. The drone scenes I assisted with, but the main flying was done by Logan. Remembering lines

  Our group is doing a BMW commercial. In these commercials the viewers usually see well-dressed actors stepping in and out of the vehicle and driving. These actors are mostly male, but some are female. ·        The actors wear costumes such as fancy ties and suits, driving gloves, people outside of the vehicles are also wearing fancy clothes, all characters are wearing deluxe clothing even if it is plain. ·          Props are not very common in these commercials; they use 2-3 cars and sometimes a person holding a sign to let pedestrians pass ·           Everyone that is driving is usually well groomed, fit, and ready for action, they stand out in a crowd as well distinguished and successful. ·          All commercials are fast paced with lots of highly skilled drivers with attention to detail placed on the rear wheels and body lines of the car.
