Footage Review
Welcome to my second production blog! The main thing I have worked after filming was reviewing the footage. Our editor has been sharing his rough drafts with the entire group. This has made the finalizing processes very cooperative. I enjoy when everyone gets to share their perspective, especially when mine is heard. When more ideas are put into a space, it becomes less of an echo chamber. Varying viewpoints are heard, and the best possible result is made. It becomes more of a group effort. Seeing the footage evolve is also a very fun experience. The first version is just a compilation of clips filmed on a phone. It is very crude, and is simply a moving storyboard for the commercial. The audio is raw, and no transitions are in place. The next few versions add mainly audio, which can change a commercial completely. Music and voiceover can alter the mood and pace drastically. The car commercial will hopefully feel fast, and intense to the viewer. We also need to reshoot a view scenes, as the filming was off. Instead of filming in horizontal orientation, some scenes were shot vertically. When the commercial is completed, these scenes would look wholly out of place. This will give us an opportunity to refine the shots layout and how clean they appear. We can get smoother movement and placement.
